POCWSN = Parents of children with special needs I know many parents that are in need of support, even if it's just a shoulder to cry on. As a mom of a child with ASD and ADHD, I know the frustrations that arise on a daily basis. My goal is to find ways to support one another. I would like to establish play dates, coffee breaks, Parents night out and whatever any one else feels they need. I am not a doctor or therapist.  I am just a mom looking for support and advice from other parents.

I decided to start an accessiblity meet up group to get a feel for people who may be looking for a church home or group that caters to the need of individuals with special needs. I myself have family members who are spiritual and have special needs so i know there is a need in the washington area community for this type of ministry.

This group is here to support parents & children with special needs. Being a single parent to a child with ADHD/ Bipolar has it's ups and downs like a roller coaster.  What I've learned is that support is a key ingredient to peace of mind. My child is free from pharmaceutical drugs and is now living the life of a peaceful child. Let's learn together on how to create a natural peace of mind.

… The majority of our activities are in Sterling, Reston, Herndon, Ashburn, Leesburg, Fairfax and surrounding areas but sometimes events have been posted for Maryland (hikes and ziplining) and DC for special events. It's not to say we don't go to other locations but they are seldom posted. Please keep in mind that this is a girls only group but we also do co-ed and family events, too. This is a group for papercrafters of all experience levels.  We are a warm, friendly group of women who share supplies, techniques, stories, food, and fellowship. Not sure if scrapbooking/papercrafting is for you?
